Introduction
The YWCA Camp Sloggett has a prime a location just a short drive off the main road in Koke’e. It’s a very peaceful setting and we’ve had a great time camping there before. Unfortunately, as of summer 2024, they are not allowing tent camping or camper van camping. They do still have some cabin options and could be a great option if you are a family or in a small group.

Directions to Camp Sloggett
From Lihue, head north on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) towards Waimea. After passing through Waimea, continue on the highway as it turns into Koke’e Road (Route 550). The drive will take you up into the cooler elevations of Koke’e State Park. Upon reaching Koke‘e State Park, stay on the main road and take the first right after Koke‘e Lodge turn off. Follow the dirt road 1/2 mile and look for wooden Camp Sloggett sign. Turn right at the sign and follow the road into the large clearing. That’s the campground.

Camp Sloggett Fees and Reservations

Cabin prices range from $80 a night for a two-person studio to $165 per night for a 4-person cottage and $265 per night to reserve the lodge for up to 15 people. Reservations are a must and it can be booked out for months in advance especially during peak seasons.

Is Camp Sloggett camper van or Roof Top Tent friendly?
No, they do not currently allow camper van or roof top tents. A few years ago they did and we’re hoping they will bring it back. Maybe if you ask nicely?
